P1DM1
Ahhh...map naming conventions. Who could forget them? The Dark Zone, The Bad Place (my
absolutest favouritesest map!!!), and...er...Q3Tourney4.

Weather's been topsy-turvy the past week...heavy rain in the evenings till late at night, and unbearable heat during the afternoon. I kinda hoped it would rain during the morning so I could escape my regular hikes but that didn't materialise :( So much for building character lol!
Had my fortnightly dose of banana leaf rice today...yum yum! There was an assortment of side dishes to choose from whenever you go out and eat with a few heads, and I didn't sell myself short this time with chicken masala, mutton curry, fried pari in sweet n sour sauce, friend fish, deep fried bittergourd and ladies fingers, and the coup-de-grace - fried egg with onion! :P~~ Washing it down with some ice cold mooru made my day, even though office hours meant there was no Asahi made available to me...

BLR ROCKS MY SOCKS!

The Fiery Pits of Hell
Visiting Dr. Mah wasn't so bad, she just had this screwdriver thingy which loosened both wisdom teeth, and the the really, really huge evil plier twin did me in. I twisted and squirmed, and the roots of my teeth fought the good fight for a solid 45 minutes or so before relenting to the unabashed assault of twisted metal. There was a sick, crunching sound just before they popped out, and thank God for anaesthetic! :D

Eating was a real chore the past few days. All I had was mee sua and some tofu at some ancient tea house in Pulau Tikus that evening itself. Saturday's menu was nothing but fish head mee hoon for both lunch AND dinner - too bad I was ravaged by a fever in the later part of the day, thus rendering me useless to attend the 2nd Renewal service at TMC. I really wanted to hear what our former Health Minister had to say about his possession experience...to think he was possessed by Legion! Could it be the same Legion mentioned in Mark 5:2-15? I can only wonder, but thank God that he's come to his senses now...makes me wonder what the Health Ministry has been up to when Dr. Chua Jui Meng was under the spell for so many years!

It was the Church's 47th Anniversary on Sunday, so that meant no BB in the afternoon, and 2 words - Guinness Draught! It tastes much sweeter than the can, that's all I can say. There was a real heavy rain in the evening as waves of refreshment were sent from above to wash away the day's heat :)

Took MC yesterday as I wanted to really really recover from the remnants of my fever, and it was the wise choice. I'm currently soaking both wisdom teeth in some Clorox to bleach it white so that I can make a necklace or pendant or something. The 2 holes in my gums are bothering me quite a bit, and there's a wee bit of pain left inside when I chew, but other than that, thank God there's no more problems of food being stuck behind my teeth! Wheee! :D

Reapies the Foolish
OK so the death knell has rung. My appointment at 10am with Dr. Mah this Friday is confirmed. By 11 I should've lost both wisdom teeth, and also suffer from a horrible bout of pain. Finally, I get a taste of what the huge needle used to administer the anaesthetic feels like. I used to wonder about the pain level that contraption caused when observing my mom jabbing kids who're 1/3 younger than me, and they didn't release a whimper. Here I am, nearly 24 and yet my knees are quivering like jelly.

Ice cream! Porridge! Baby food! All the gooey stuff will be part of my diet the next few days post September 24th.

None the wiser
Help! The yearly visit to the dentist proved uneventful until she pronounced the death knell to me halfway through probing the inner recesses of my mouth, intensifying the phantom pain further.

"Hmm, both your wisdom teeth have holes, and I advise you to have them removed before the plaque spreads to the other good teeth. When's the earliest you can make an appointment? It won't be too painful - I promise! The pain level would probably be somewhere in the region of being burnt alive on a stake during the Inquisition whilst being pulled apart on a rack."

That really sent shivers down my spine. Kidding about the last 2 lines that she said, but I would be given an MC to remove both upper wisdom teeth. Thankfully they'll just be yanked out under the influence of local anesthetic, unlike lower wisdom teeth that have to be sawed out with part of my gums. God, don't let my bottom ones grow! I rescind that request from you :P
Well, an ice-cream diet for a couple of days doesn't sound too bad ;) Reminds me of when I had a bout of hand-foot-mouth slightly more than a couple of years back, ice-cream never tasted more inviting!

Managed some breakthrough with Nicholas yesterday, he managed to memorise a few lines from his notes! :) Guess trying a different approach really worked.

Had a really interesting conversation with Dawn last night until the clock struck 12, and I scurried back home before the fairy godmother changed my wheels to a pumpkin. Food for thought, but the price to pay is unprecedented sleepiness :P Another week of work beckons, along with a week of testing and refinement. Bring it on, the war's already won! :)

Tax Burdens
Another year, another raise in sin taxes. My beloved Irish's Finest have gone up by at least a dollar across shops nationwide, and smokers are griping about the 20.37% increase in the price of their indulgence. Gonna take a couple months' for the whole nation to readjust their habits, but I believe its a case of lost cause for the majority since they'll rechannel their financial resources accordingly.

Its already September! A few more months before the year end festivities set in. There's still some time left for me to achieve my goals this year, although it could end up being a very tight squeeze :(

Dawn's spurred me into thinking about many things last night - what should I do next? Is it the practical and right way to go about it, or do am I just too self-absorbed to search for the answer? I cannot have my whole cake and eat it too, but what is the price that I'm willing to pay for the potential greatness/folly of my decision? God help me (after I've tried my best, of course)! How come she's got me thinking with the words she used... 0_o

On a much brighter note, EuroDeli has opened in Penang. MmMmMMmm the thought of pork spaghetti, roasted knuckled pork, amongst other porky dishes. Will pay a visit to it sometime this month end, and celebrate...well, celebrate the fact that we're still on Earth for another day to accomplish many more things that builds up an eternal Kingdom! :) Of course what's pork without some Black & White ;) Move over, Sky Hotel siew bak and char siew!

Black Gold
Barry White's playing in the background. Its Friday, and the lingering smell of the weekend is mixed with the equally strong putrid air of work.
Wound down yesterday at the office's watering hole behind. There is a calming effect brought about by a nice cold Black & White at the end of the day. Light banter and some interesting talk led us to dinner at Fever, where the Hokkien Mee was really something to shout about. Soup was good, evenly spiced. The beef soup was fantastic but it came too late at the end of dinner to make any impact. The management there offered us some black chilli that was around twice the size of your regular cili padi. I took a small bite out of it, and thought it tasted just like any other of those little buggers.
The spicyness took around 15 seconds before it kicked in, and this was the first time I actually had a lonely tear streaming out of my eye due to the nature of that chilli! It was some hot stuff...one of the best chillies that I've ever tasted in my life. Can't wait to take some of that the next time I eat bak kut teh...will grab a chilli and go plant it soon.
