Candide
What's up fools! Headed over to Jethrel's but strangely it has ceased to be, and ended up as Compuzone's website.
Did some light reading over the weekend, and I must say, Voltaire's "Candide" is really humourous. Loyal, are there any more books along those lines?
Other than that, the rain's stopped (thank God) and they've finally opened up the road :D
The little hobbitte that could wanted to be left alone :(

*phew* What a weekend. Friday night was kickstarted by my company's bosses' birthday dinner, and I must say the market must be getting better for everyone since scallops and abalone were served :) As usual the night ended with everyone a wee bit high, and there was the customary ragging session for the ladies who could not hold their drink. Midway through the dinner, the chungku DJ stopped spinning pseudo-feng tau music, and introduced Baby Kelly - a fully-fledged chungku wearing nothing but a Jungle Jane outfit. She was really fair, and most of the guys stopped focusing on the food so I walloped the rest of the scallops :P Apparently she got paid RM300 to sing 4 or 5 songs while wiggling her bum. Darn it! Loyal would've loved her, and I'm sure she would've given Xing Mpeg a run for her money in terms of chungkishness.
Saturday was rather hectic - the first 2/3rds of it anyway. Did alot of people trafficking around, and had another 8 course meal for lunch. Stayed over at Vincent's (I'm becoming a permanent fixture there during weekends) to watch Carlo Cudicini break millions of hearts :P
Sunday's lunch consisted of herbal pork leg, vege, seaweed soup, roasted chicken, roasted pork, and some beef balls. Talk about a sinful weekend! :(
GL to goosey as he attempts to represent Malaysia in some pool championship thingy. The weather here has begun to take a turn for the worse again :((( Hun-Kee Ed, over and out!

Darn!
Hmmm I had a really pleasant dream last night, I bought a GBA SP and I was playing Final Fantasy Tactics on it. And then I woke up ;_;
Was reading thru Jethrel's and the proverbial shit seemed to have hit his fan. Unfortunately, I fear for him. At the end of his blog, he asked the world to "BRING IT ON!!" I've seen with my own eyes how Loyal's resolve was stretched to its very limits, and at his lowest point a few months' back, he did ask for the same thing.
He was a very changed man when things went the way he wanted it - BRING IT ON!! Just wanna let everyone know to be more careful when wishing upon something, it might very well come true! ;)

Gandalf
Looks like the torrid weather hasn't stopped, and I'm getting rather upset with the clothes hanging in the kitchen for days without getting any bit drier. More mudslides and fallen rocks along the secondary Bayan Lepas route home meant I was stuck in traffic for 2 1/2 hours before reaching home from office...ah, the bliss of being stuck in a jam. Makes me feel like I'm visiting MidValley during the weekend. You get to notice the interesting things that people keep themselves occupied with in a jam, there will be the opportunist gold diggers who have not realised that the Gold Rush ended wayyyyy back, agile kids disturbingly displaying simian traits in the back half of a car, Kancils n Kelisas weaving in and out of lanes, most of the time perching halfway on the road and the kerb, just to be 1 car ahead of an hour's jam. Nights are fun though, since the temperature drop fits in with my slumber session to a T. Takes quite the herculean effort to peel my eyes open when the alarm rings, but since its Wednesday (halfway thru the week...yay!!) I'm willing to go thru the same shit albeit on a different day.
The Nokia N-Gage launch was rather muted across the world, and I don't think gamers are willing to warm up to such a device. Priced at US$299, it costs more than the GC, PS2, XBox and the amazing GBA SP handheld. Using the N-Gage as a phone looks weird as people will think you might have some weird seashell surgically grafted to your cheek. Putting in a game cartridge is no cakewalk either, (take a deep breath everyone) as you have to remove the battery cover, remove the battery, remove the cartridge cover, put in the cartridge followed by its cover, put in the battery, close the battery cover, and turn on the power. Wait for it to boot up, and there you go, at least 90 seconds of waiting period before you can boot up the next game. Try doing all that in a crowded bus, once you drop one of those components you have to remove, you're done for. A GBA SP is so much more convenient, wanna change the game? Just switch cartrdiges. OK so you can't talk on a GBA SP, but heck, if I want portable gaming goodness, there's no other way to go than Nintendo's best seller.
Comments are still down. Socky! :( Amazonian's back in town, not sure if her overtly paranoid toi-boi's still glued to her. I hope the weather improves though, I'm getting sick of going thru Bayan Lepas every morning and the evening. Ah well, bek 2 werks!

Wordplay
Its weird, this confused feeling. The murky depths of the human heart is filled with twisted truths, withered words, and miry mazes. I've come to the conclusion that I'm fickle-minded, but that truth should change momentarily if I were to conform to such a self-refuting statement.
I know I'm fickle-minded. I am, I really am!
Btw, did you know that an anagram for "Mother-in-Law" is "Woman Hitler"?

Knee Deep in the Dead
Guess the showers of blessing finally stopped this morning - but the thick clouds look like they are just taking a brief respite before pouring out the remaining contents. During the past 3 days of non-stop rain, it kinda felt weird, as my thoughts wandered to those living during the days of Noah. They were probably thinking "Bummer!" during the first few days' of rain, but those thoughts must've changed dramatically during the following days :P
The weather report buzzed in with news that there will be more rain to come over the entire northern region. What a damper on the spirits :( To make things worse, Wolves actually beat Man City, and my captain Anelka failed to score a single goal, let alone a hattrick! Matthew Upson did a splendid job on the pitch on Saturday night but he only got 1 point :~( Here's where this fox complains of sour grapes when his wet snout can't get a bite on that juicy bunch :P!
Spent the entire weekend at Vincent's as the road leading to my house is still blocked by lorry-sized boulders. The TNT from quarries nearby must've gotten soaked and rendered ineffective. Its been nearly 20 years since the belly of the hill was cut to accomodate the road, and it looks like the wounds have not fully healed yet. The entire weekend itenary was focused around sloth-like activities; relaxing, but it felt like a waste since nothing worthwhile was accomplished. Maybe as the skies clear later today, the week will start looking up.

Goblin sappers
Man, the 14-hour marathon downpour yesterday sure did the curvaceous mountain road leading to my hobbit-hole in. Jack and Jill must have had quite a session up the hill, causing several boulders to tumble down, allowing only bikes to squeeze their way through. That was ok, I was pretty cool with it. I made a quick U-turn on the slippery tarmac and headed toward Bayan Lepas (that's what the Ford Traffic Phone Ranger told me to do anyways). Upon reaching the airport roundabout, crossing that 400 meter flyover took me slightly over an hour. My curiousity was not strong enough to let me sit through such a jam to find out the cause of it though.
Was I peturbed? Slightly. Managed to make another U-turn just after the flyover and headed off to BJC to get some working clothes for today, and then I gave V a call and stayed over at his place. I interrupted his packing session, but we did have quite a few laughs over how he would emcee his company's annual trip, aptly themed "Pirates of the Kerabian", held at Kerabi Island (sp?), Thailand.
Anyways. Woke up this morning to more rain - I just hope it doesn't flood up there in Balik Pulau, as I would still like to keep my comic collection intact. Frankly, nothing much can change my mood on my fav day, unless its some worldwide Malapetaka level 10 thing going on.

Reign
It started with a gentle, low rumble in the distance. The sweeping orchestration of sound, creeping up silently without you realising it, then enveloping you beneath its cacaphonious melody. Her presence was much welcome, as she washed away the day’s weariness and toil. Not to mention the bird shit on my car.
Man, I love rain!
I really suck at putting letter to screen the day’s events and happenings. I lack the eloquence and endurance for such a taxing activity. Anyways, this morning didn’t really start off that well as I purchased a banana fritter from one of those vegetarian stalls by the roadside for RM0.50. Half-a-ringgit for a fried banana! Makes me wonder what the ingredients were…maybe the goreng pisang/pisang goreng lady thought otherwise when she read the label on the cooking oil bottle – “Fries your food to Golden Brown perfection!”, and decided to price her banana fritters at the going rate of gold.
Shiny Disco Ball has disappeared from Trillian the past few days without notice, wonder what happened. If you’re alive somewhere out there, please give a shout out below!
Its been so boring, maybe I should go get a copy of Jedi Academy. There’re Force powers available right at the start of the game, so there’s no need to go through any training missions. Too bad it comes in 2 CDs, time to buy those game installers that are packaged in DVD format :P
